Product Description
| The BlackBerry 8703e smartphone operates on the latest high-speed wireless networks, keeping you fully connected while on the go. Compatible with Sprint's EV-DO high-speed broadband network, the 8703e delivers a rich wireless experience whether you're waiting out an airport layover or carpooling to work, with fast e-mail, application, and browser speeds. At the same time, you can connect your laptop or PC to the Internet using the 8703e as a tethered modem, so you don't even need to carry a wireless PC card. In short, there's no better way to stay connected.
The BlackBerry 8703e isn't huge, but it's also not quite as compact as some of BlackBerry's other recent offerings, such as the Pearl. One of the main reasons is that BlackBerry added a full QWERTY keyboard to the 8703e, letting you easily type e-mails and text messages without having to peck the same key several times to input each letter. The dedicated Send, End, and Mute keys, meanwhile, team up with the thumb-operated trackwheel and user-definable convenience keys to make the 8703e easier to navigate than ever. And users will love the bright high-resolution screen, which optimizes lighting levels to offer ideal viewing indoors or out.
All the calling capabilities folks have come to expect in a wireless phone are present in the BlackBerry 8703e. The handset's speakerphone makes it easy to use the device hands-free, or if you prefer, you can use a wireless headset via the phone's built-in Bluetooth capability. The phone also offers a vibrating alert, a speed dial, and a contacts list/address book that's limited only by the unit's 64 MB of internal memory. And thanks to the phone's speaker-independent voice dialing function, you can call contacts with the sound of your voice. No prior voice training is required; simply say a contact's name and the phone will dial the number. Messaging, Internet, and Tools Sprint Services Enterprise Server Other features include support for assignable polyphonic and MP3 ringtones, GPS support, M4 and T4 ratings for hearing aids, and an included holster for easy transport. Newer & smaller isn't always better! |

| Although this particular BlackBerry model is becoming hard-to-find, there are good reasons to choose the 8703 over newer, cuter, smaller models. Basically, why have a BlackBerry if typing is a total hassle? The newer models shrink the keys even smaller, making typing anything more than a brief note painfully arduous. With the 8703, typing even long e-mails is pretty easy. Downside, of course, is that it's a bit bulkier than newer models ... but how much do a few ounces really matter anyway? Do buy an extra battery, though... if this is your first BlackBerry, know that battery life is significantly more limited than with a "traditional" cellphone because the BB is constantly transmitting data. |
Back to my first love...Blackberry! |

| I loved this phone. It was my second Blackberry & I guess you could say I was addicted to the ease of typing, the fast email & internet capabilities and of course the large LCD screen. The only con to this fine is there is no camera I like taking pics & video of my kids, so this was bit of a downer. But if you are not a picture person or are partial to a digital camera this phone could be for you. I moved to an Instinct which was okay the keys were way to small to type but I missed my Blackberry so much after a few months I purchased the newer version and well Blackberry has done it again!!! I am back with my first love! Get the Sprint Everything Plan and you can't go wrong!!!! |
