The Sony Ericsson W760, one of the Walkman-branded handset announced at the 2008 Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas, is the manufacturer's attempt to create a high-end feature phone that focuses on fun. Multimedia is the star of the device, as expected from a Walkman handset, but the W760 tries to be a lot more - adding games, internet, and location based services to its repertoire of music, video, and photos. Sony Ericsson F305

July 21, 2008 by · Leave a Comment

Sony Ericsson’s F305 is a new youth-focused model with mobile gaming at its heart. The handset has motion sensors which work hand in hand with specially created games by well known games house Gameloft.

The Wii-like (both inside and outside) device is of the slider variety, with a 2” 176 x 220 pixel TFT LCD on the front surrounded by a range of dedicated gaming keys. The F305’s motion sensors allow you to control games by moving the handset so you can, for example, mimic the action of bowling a bowling ball or casting a fishing line.

Gaming is further enhanced with full stereo speakers, which can also be used to share media tracks with friends. The F305’s battery is expected to provide the handset with up to 8 hours of game play.

Sliding the F305 open reveals its other side – a mobile phone! The numerical keypad is neatly hidden away when it’s not needed, with all navigational and control keys located on the face.

Equipped with a 2mpx digital camera, the F305 is capable of image and video capture and instant sharing with friends and family via MMS, e-mail, or Bluetooth. Only 10MB of internal memory is available for storage but the handset does support Sony’s Memory Stick Micro format – but one is not included in the sales package.

A stereo FM radio is built-in to the F305, as well as support for the USB Mass Storage Device profile.

The long gone Style-up covers are back, enabling users to customise the look of their phone with replaceable back and front covers. Two different designs are included in the sales package.

The Sony Ericsson F305 will be available in Polar White and Mystic Black colour variants in selected markets from Q3 2008. The F305c will be released at the same time for Chinese markets with almost identical features but different network band support.
